I am a Special Education teacher in New Hanover County and LOVE Special Olympics. I get to see the joy that this program brings to my students with all of the amazing activities and events they provide during the year. Some of my favorite memories as a teacher are going to Special Olympics events with my students and cheering them on.

This program provides year-round sports training, competition, social events, and the Camp Shriver summer camp for people with intellectual disabilities.

More than 600 athletes participate in Special Olympics New Hanover County. The program relies on private and corporate support as well as the efforts of over 300 volunteers. These services are provided at no cost to the athletes or their families.

Please help me in raising much needed funds to keep these programs running, and to help athletes reach their goals.
